PROFILE OF CHARLES YAW BREFO-NIMO – PRESIDENT
Charles Yaw Brefo-Nimo has been educated in both Ghana and the United Kingdom (UK) and has over twenty-two (22) years cumulative work experience in working in both countries with different development organizations in varied roles and responsibilities. He graduated from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and was awarded with B.A (Hons) degree in Social Sciences (Economics & Geography) and Diploma in Education in 1996. He obtained his Commonwealth Executive MBA degree (CEMBA) in General Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2013 and obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resource Management from CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST) in 2019. He also holds other relevant certifications including, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) of Excellence and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the University of Central England, Technology Innovation Center and GIMPA respectively. Mr. Brefo-Nimo is also a Certified International Project Manager ® (CIPM) and Master Project Manager ® (MPM) awarded by the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM) since 2020. He is currently a Senior Programs Manager for IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative but prior to that, he had worked with different organizations including SNV Netherlands Development Organization, Plan International in Ghana as well as Thomas Ramo Woodridge (TRW) European Steering at the United Kingdom.
PROFILE OF LOUISA ABENA EBBAH- VICE PRESIDENT
Louisa Abena Ebbah currently work as a Quality Assurance Supervisor with Promasidor Ghana Limited. Prior to that she worked with Twellium Ghana Limited (2014). Louisa was awarded with a degree in Food Science and Technology with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2013 and Master of Philosophy in Food Science and Technology from the CSIR College of Science and Technology in 2019. Louisa has a publication in a high profiled journal and is currently working on another (Improving the fermentability of sorghum worth using sweet potato as an adjunct in Pito production). She is a certified internal auditor (by SGS).
PROFILE OF KWAKU OSEI ADU AGYEMAN – GENERAL SECRETARY
Mr. Kwaku Osei Adu Agyeman is currently Principal Technologist at the CSIR-Soil Research Institute in Kumasi, Ghana. He also graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management majoring in Silviculture and Forest Management. Agyeman holds a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management from the CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST). He has a number of technical reports and manuals to his credit.
PROFILE OF EUNICE OKYERE AGYAPONG – ORGANIZER
Eunice Okyere-Agyapong is a currently Principal Technologist at the CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG) and also in-charge of Mesewam Research Centre. She obtained her Bachelor Science degree in Natural Resources Management (Silviculture and Forest Management) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She also holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management from the CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST). Eunice is a member of Steering Committee for the African Charter of the International Association of Vegetation Science (IAVS).
PROFILE OF ALEXANDER OWUSU ANSAH – TREASURER
Alexander Owusu Ansah has a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and also a Master of Philosophy in Soil Health and Environmental Resources Management from the CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST). He currently works as a Principal Technologist at the CSIR- Soil Research Institute. He is very experienced in remote sensing and GIS works. Mr. Owusu Ansah participated in the development of the Global Soil Salt Affected mapping by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO, 2020) and also the Global Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration Potential Mapping by FAO in 2021.
PROFILE OF AGNES ACHIAA ABOAGYE – COMMUNICATION OFFICER
Agnes Achiaa Aboagye is currently working as a Principal Technologist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Crops Research Institute. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Cape Coast and an MPhil degree in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology from the CSIR College of Science and Technology. Over the past eight years, she has developed professional competencies in the use of modern plant tissue culture technology to produce clean planting materials, germplasm conservation, and the use of bioreactor systems for in-vitro rapid multiplication of crops. Furthermore, she has gained international experience in training programs at institutions such as Wageningen University, University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Australian National University in Canberra Australia.
