GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PROGRAMMES
A good first degree (at least a second class lower division) in a relevant field of study at any recognized University. A minimum of one to three years working experience is required from all applicants who want to pursue programmes at the College. Applicants will also be required to attend interview and pass. The interview will be organized by the Department.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
MPhil Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management
Prospective applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (Second Class Division) in either Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, Natural and Physical Sciences, Social Science or related fields. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MSc Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management
Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree (with Third Class, CGPA of 2.30-2.40) in either Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, Natural and Physical Sciences, Social Science or related fields from a recognized University and has subsequently worked in a relevant industry for at least three (3) years and has gained considerable experience will be considered for enrollment after rigorous interview. Programme Duration: One (1) year Six (6) months (18 months).
MPhil Aquaculture
Applicants must have degree in either biological or life sciences with at least a Second Class Division from a recognized university. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MPhil Fisheries Science
Applicants must have a degree in either biological or life sciences with at least Second Class Division from a recognized higher education institution. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MPhil Industrial Animal Nutrition and Feed Production
Applicants must have a degree (Second Class Division) in either Agriculture, Biological Sciences or related fields from a recognized higher education institution. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MSc Industrial Animal Nutrition and Feed Production
Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree (with Third Class, CGPA of 2.30-2.40) in either Agriculture, Biological Sciences or related fields from a recognized higher education institution and has subsequently worked in a relevant industry for at least three (3) years and has gained considerable experience will be considered for enrollment after rigorous interview. Programme Duration: One (1) year Six (6) months (18 months).
MPhil Plant Breeding and Biotechnology
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in either Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Horticulture, Botany or related fields from a recognized higher education institution. Knowledge in Genetics or Plant Breeding is also required. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months)
MPhil Food Science and Technology
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (Second Class Division) in either Biological Science or related fields from a recognized higher education institution. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MSc Food Science and Technology
Successful completion of an undergraduate programme with the minimum qualification of a Second-Class Lower degree in any of the biological sciences from an accredited University. A candidate with a Third-Class degree in the first degree in any of the biological sciences, but who has subsequently worked in the food industry, a food research organisation, a food regulatory organisation or other relevant institutions and has acquired relevant work experience may be admitted into the programme based on the assessment of an Admissions Committee. Programme Duration: One (1) year Six (6) months (18 months).
PhD Food Science and Technology
MPhil or research MSc degree holder in the biological sciences from a recognized/accredited university. MSc degree in the biological sciences with a CGPA of 3.5 or better, with not more than one (1) grade C+. Also, have scored B+ or better in the Research Methods course or have at least two (2) refereed journal publications. PhD students whose MPhil degree is not in food science, food technology or a similar programme will be required to attend and pass some of the courses offered at the MPhil in Food Science and Technology (FoST 800 courses) level in the Department. PhD students with an MPhil degree in food science, food technology or similar programmes may audit any of the MPhil courses (FoST 800 courses) if they so wish. The second and third years will be devoted to the thesis. Programme Duration: Three years or 36 months.
PhD Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management
The basic requirement for admission to the PhD programme is research Master’s degree (MSc or MPhil) in fields related to Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, Natural and Physical Sciences, Social Science or related fields from a recognized higher education institution.
Candidates with non-research BSc or MSc degrees in the fields listed above and with proven capacity of pursuing a doctoral degree will undertake the doctoral programme for either three (3) years (six semesters) or four (4) years (eight semesters), depending on prior knowledge, research capabilities and nature of the degree. Depending on the outcome of the selection, such candidates may be enrolled into MPhil and given opportunity to upgrade after the first year when they have satisfied the minimum requirement for upgrade to the PhD programme. Candidates entering with a CGPA of 3.5 or better, who scored B+ or better in Research Methods, with not more than one Grade C+ in the programme area may be admitted to the second year of the doctoral programme to pursue the course for three (3) years (six semesters) similar to candidates entering with a research masters’ degree. Programme Duration: Three years or 36 months.
MPhil Soil Health and Environmental Resources Management
Applicants seeking admission must have a bachelor’s degree (Second Class Division) in either Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Science or related fields from a recognized higher education institution. Programme Duration: Two (2) years (24 months).
MSc Soil Health and Environmental Resources Management

NOTE:
Proof of English Language Proficiency: Applicants who have not been instructed in English at the undergraduate level must have a test score of at least 550 (paper test) or 213 (computer test) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
