List of Forms for Senior Members (Teaching)

CSIR Staff: Applicants from the CSIR Community seeking teaching appointment in the College
An applicant seeking an appointment to a teaching position must obtain the College’s Application for Appointment Form and complete in quadruplicate (Four (4) copies). The following documents must accompany the completed form:

1. Covering Letter from the applicant
2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae in the College CV format (Updated)

3. Certified copies of Certificates
4. Passport Pictures
5. Publications in support of the application (If applying for a rank above a Lecturer)
6. Matrix Table showing authorship publications (i.e. as Sole, Lead or Corresponding Author)- (If applying for a rank above a Lecturer)
7. Matrix Table showing percentage of publications in the various outlets
. Published in indexed (Web of Science, Scopus, Science Citation Index, Arts and            Humanities Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index) journals as well as MEDLINE, AJOL, DRIC Indexed Journals, or any other relevant database            that is accepted and reviewed from time to time. (If applying for a rank above a Lecturer).
8. Soft copies of publications on CD (If applying for a rank above a Lecturer)

Under our appointment procedure, an application for a post in the College has to be supported by appropriate references on the applicant. Names and Addresses of TWO referees are to be provided. One of whom should be a person under whom you have studied, and the other under whom you have worked

The following procedures shall apply:

1. On receipt of the application documents, the Head of Department shall table the application before the Departmental Appointments and Promotions                Committee. The composition of the Committee shall be determined based on the application under consideration. The decision of the Committee shall          be presented in the approved format. The Head of Department shall add a Justification Letter and Teaching Load Sheet for the entire Department to the        application and its supporting documents.
2. The Head of Department shall submit the application and its supporting documents together with the recommendations of the Committee in the approved       
format to the Dean for further action.
3. In instances where the level of appointment being sought by the applicant is higher than the level of the Head of Department, the Head of Department            shall add a Justification Letter and Teaching Load Sheet for the
entire Department to the application and its supporting documents and then forward to          the Dean for further action.
4. On receipt of the application documents, the Dean shall constitute the Faculty Appointments and Promotions Committee to consider the application and          then forward its recommendations together with the application and its supporting documents to the Registrar.
5. On receipt of the application documents, the Registrar shall ensure that all the requirements have been met and then present the applicant’s documents,        together with all the reports on the applicant, to the College’s Appointments and Promotions Committee for consideration.
6. In instances where the level of appointment being sought by the applicant is lower than Senior Lecturer, the College Appointments and Promotions                  Committee, acting on behalf of the College Governing Board shall communicate the decision of the Committee to applicant to end the process.
7. The Committee shall inform the College Governing Board of its decision on such applicants.

CSIR Staff: Applicants seeking promotion to the next teaching title in the College
An applicant seeking promotion to the next teaching/academic rank or title must obtain the College’s Application for Promotion Form and complete it in quadruplicate (Four (4) copies). The following documents must accompany the completed form:

1. Covering Letter
2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae in the College CV format (Updated)
3. Publications in support of the application
4. Soft copies of publications, CV and Completed Application Form on CD/Pen Drive
5. Four (4) Hard Copies of publications (Comb bind)
6. Summary of Students’ Appraisal Form on the Applicant
7. Matrix Table showing authorship publications (i.e. as Sole, Lead or Corresponding Author)
8. Matrix Table showing percentage of publications in the various outlets. Published in indexed (Web of Science, Scopus, Science Citation Index, Arts and            Humanities Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index) journals as well as MEDLINE, AJOL, DRIC Indexed Journals, or any other relevant database            that is accepted and reviewed from time to time.
9. Confidential Assessment Report on Applicant (To be completed by the Dean/Head of Department as the case may be. The Dean/Head of              Department upon receipt of the completed Application Form and Supporting documents SHALL contact the Registry for the                          CONFIDENTIAL FORM.

The following procedures shall apply:

1. On receipt of the application documents, the Head of Department shall table the application before the Departmental Appointments and Promotions                Committee. The Head of Department shall add a Confidential Report on the applicant to the application and its supporting              documents.
2. The Head of Department shall submit the application and its supporting documents together with the recommendations of the Committee to the Dean for         further action.
3. In instances where the level of promotion being sought by the applicant is higher than the level of the Head of Department, the Head of Department shall         add a Confidential Letter
to the application and its supporting documents and then forward to the Dean for further action.
4. On receipt of the application documents, the Dean shall constitute the Faculty Appointments and Promotions Committee to consider the application and          then forward its recommendations together with the application and its supporting documents to the Registrar.
5. In instances where the level of promotion being sought by the applicant is higher than the level of the Dean, the Dean shall constitute a Committee of           
Professors, Chaired by the Senior Most Professor, to consider the application. The recommendations shall be forwarded together with the application              and its supporting documents to the Registrar.
6. On receipt of the application documents, the Registrar shall ensure that all the requirements have been met and then present the applicant’s documents,        together with all the reports on the applicant, to the College’s Appointments and Promotions Committee for consideration.
8. After consideration by the College Appointments and Promotions Committee, the application and supporting documents shall be sent to University of Cape        Coast, our mentoring Institution, for further processing.
9. Upon receipt of the Assessors Reports from the University of Cape Coast, the College Appointments and Promotions Committee shall consider the Reports        and forward its recommendation to the
College Governing Board’s consideration. In instances where the level of promotion being sought by the                    applicant is the Professorial level, the College Appointments and Promotions Committee acting on behalf of the College Governing Board shall                        communicate the decision of the Committee to applicant to end the process. The Committee shall inform the College Governing Board of its decision on        such applicants.
10. The decision of the College Governing Board shall be communicated to the applicant (Professorial Levels) accordingly to end the process. For promotion          form, please click and Download and complete application form.
