A five-member CCST delegation led by the Board Chairman of the College, Prof. Jophus Anamuah-Mensah has paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Cape Coast, the mentor institution. The Registrar of UCC, Mr. Jeff T. Teye, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, welcomed the CCST delegation.

The Board Chairman and leader of the CCST delegation in his response, thanked the Registrar and indicated to the VC that the CCST management thought it wise to pay a courtesy call on him upon assumption of office as tradition demanded. He commended UCC for the role they have played over the years in the establishment and mentoring of CCST and also to inform and officially invite him to the CCST upcoming 2nd Congregation to be held in Kumasi on Friday, 30th July, 2021.

The College President, Prof. Mark Appiah, in his speech thanked the Vice Chancellor and his team for accepting to host the CCST Team and commended the important role of the Head of Affiliation of UCC for his immense contribution to the development of CCST.

He further informed the Vice Chancellor that he recently held a discussion with the Dean of Academic Affairs on the appointment of a Quality Assurance Officer at the CCST in the person of Prof. Paa-Nii Johnson and indicated that the College would very soon send him for an orientation at the Affiliation Office of UCC and that a letter to that effect would be submitted.

The College Vice President, Rev. Prof. Hans Adu-Dapaah,  on his part, thanked the Vice Chancellor and his team and recounted the role played by his immediate predecessor, Prof. Joseph Ampiah Ghartey and his personal involvement in the establishment of CCST and personally accepted to grace CCST’s 1st Congregation in Kumasi last year (July, 2020) and expected that the new VC would also attend in person the CCST 2nd Congregation to be held in Kumasi on 30th July, 2021.

The letter inviting the Vice Chancellor to CCST 2nd Congregation was formally delivered to him and was received on his behalf by the Registrar of UCC.

Responding to the invitation, the VC said he had received the report of the 1st Congregation of CCST and that as UCC celebrates its 60th Anniversary, it was his expectation that UCC would continue to mentor CCST to a higher height.

On the appointment of Quality Assurance Officer for the CCST, the Vice Chancellor indicated that the Affiliation Office would continue to support CCST in its development. He informed the CCST team of his acceptance of the invitation and indicated that he would endeavour to honour the invitation in person.

The Registrar of UCC on behalf of the VC and the entire UCC team, thanked the CCST delegation for the courtesy call and indicated that the Board Chairman was a UCC man who passed through the system before his appointment as Vice Chancellor of University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Also, present at the function were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh; the Administrative Secretary, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Elizabeth Yankey, Assistant Registrar, Institutional Affiliation Office, Mr. Justice K. G. Boateng, Assistant Registrar of CCST, Mr. D. Baah-Koranteng and Senior Administrative Officer, Mr. Peter G Asare also of CCST.
