Profile:

Dr. Adelaide Agyeman is currently a Senior Lecturer (Statistics and Research Methods) in the Department of Fisheries Science and Aquaculture, CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST). Prior to that, Dr. Agyeman lectured in Statistics in the Department of Climate Change and Integrated Natural Resources Management, CCST between 2016 and 2018.

Dr. Agyeman is also a Principal Research Scientist (PRS) with the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-STEPRI) specializing in statistical modeling, statistical analysis of molecular genetic data, poverty analysis and policy impact analysis. She holds a PhD in Statistics (University of Cape Coast), an MSc in Mathematics (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), a BSc. in Computer Science (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), a Diploma in Data Processing (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), and Certificate in Policy Impact Analysis (Université Laval, Quebec, Canada). She is also the Deputy-Director of the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute.

Dr. Agyeman has extensive experience in statistical modeling of agricultural and socio-economic data and has 75 publications, including 42 journal articles in high impact international journals, 2 book chapters, 3 edited conference papers, and 28 edited research reports. Her research over the years has focused on the evaluation of statistical models and related software for agricultural, social, economic and policy research. Dr. Agyeman has been involved in a number of collaborative and highly interdisciplinary research projects funded by international organizations such as Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Africa Research in Sustainable Intensification for the Next Generation (Africa RISING), Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), KAFACI, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Dr. Agyeman has also acted as a consultant to Ghana’s National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) in preparation of Ghana’s Voluntary National Review Report on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development.
